 Use of the US 1869 Adhesive Issue in Arkansas Mail Minimize

The United States issued a set of pictorial adhesives March 19, 1869.  The issue was replaced April 20, 1870.  For postal historians the short period of use of the 1869 adhesives presents a challenge not found in earlier and later issues.  The State of Arkansas and the Indian Territory (whose post offices were assigned to Arkansas for administration) was a sparsely populated region, far from the East Coast.  The number of surviving covers containing examples of use of the 1869 adhesives from these areas is very small.  While single uses of the 3c value on Arkansas mail are still inexpensive enough not to always be auction-level items, uses of any of the other values are generally seen in auction catalogs.

The list below contains all the 1869 adhesive uses I have seen on Arkansas mail.  I continue to add several covers a year, especially 3 cent uses, so this list in no where yet complete.
